Here are some answers to questions you may have.
Where is the Urban Salsa Class? What time?
It’s in the Tyee Hall which is in
False Creek Community Center. Ask
the front desk. Be there by 8:15pm
if you can so I know what to do with
you all.
What do I wear to practice Salsa?
Wear comfortable clothes. Jeans and
runners is fine. If you want to wear
workout gear that’s more then fine
also. If you have Salsa shoes bring
them.
What if I don’t have a partner?
Don’t worry about partners. We will
constantly switch during class and
you will be dancing with everyone at
least once. If we have way more
girls then guys then we’ll just have
to mix it up so you’re not standing
around.
What will we do? Is it really hard?
We are going to
have a 2-3 month beginner session
which means we’re starting from
scratch. Beginners will enjoy
learning the basics so you don’t
feel lost and Intermediate people
will be able to refresh their
memories. As the class progresses
the moves will get more complicated.
Eventually, there will be an
intermediate class!
What the heck is Hot Urban Salsa?
Originally it was an opportunity to
get a space to practice for 1 hour a
week for Salsa people that
want to get better. It’s a great
time to meet new dancers, practice
new steps and coordinate outings for
future events. This is now a real
class with new signups every day.
